Biography of Cliff Goins IV

Cliff Goins IV has spent his career on the frontlines of wealth creation—investing in private companies, scaling diverse-owned businesses, and advising high-growth enterprises. He currently manages a portfolio of privately-owned businesses through his firm Ashe Beach Companies. Before that he co-founded Scaleup, a startup that originated inside Amazon, to help small and diverse-owned businesses break through revenue barriers and scale into large enterprises.

Cliff is the author of Minding the Wealth Gap: Our Playbook to Close It Together, a bold, data-driven call to action for closing the staggering $15 trillion black-white wealth gap in America. In it, he breaks down the systemic barriers that have kept Black households generations behind and spotlights nine entrepreneurs and executives who are pioneering real solutions. From housing justice to investment equity, his book isn’t just about understanding the problem; it’s about getting in the game and driving change.

Cliff is the former elder board chair for Soul City Church in Chicago, where he lives with his wife Janelle and their two smart and sporty daughters. For fun, he loves slamming tennis balls and shanking golf balls.
